African Divas Outdoor/Salem

‘Never Cease to dream, for only in dreams do we ever truly live....’
And that’s how Salem was born.

More than thirty years ago, a young woman with a heart filled with hope and a mind filled with dreams, began filling pots in tiny ground killes. She patently formed each piece of clay to become a pot with a life and soul of its own. Her pots had a personality that made it so unique that it would be forever etched into the memories of all who ever glazed at their flawless imperfection.

In those early years the very essence of style, elegance and art was captured in the clay and today it lives on through each and every pot, water texture and sculpture. Together Lettie Wild and her husband, Siebert, built a ceramic empire. Based in Steynsrus, a small town in the Free State, they created a home where each pot could mature to its full artistic strength.

Salem Ceramics was born from a desire to bring timeless style to people across the world. The world responded and Salem has grown from its humble beginnings to a well known name amongst art lovers and business people alike. Today, through the hard work and devotion of Lettie and Siebert Wild. Salem Ceramics has become renowned for its quality, Integrity and service. Their pots have graced the pages of various magazines. They steal the spotlight in offices, entrance halls and showrooms across the globe. As a customer once said: “Where other pots lose their identity by the second glance, a Salem pot becomes more lovely and lively each time you look.

While a fair amount of their of designs have always had a strong ‘African Chie’ influence, Salem’s pots, sculptures and water features are also inspired by nature, the rich colours of the earth, the mysterious movement of the wind, the peaceful restlessness of the waters that feed our continent and the nurturing secrets that mother- nature refuses to divulge but are known only to the potter.

Their pots are made to be showcased, displayed and admired. They are made for people to bring warmth, style and elegance to their homes, to express their unique identities. To be cherished and passed on for generations. Their pots are made for you.

African Divas Outdoor have teamed up with Salem and wish to continue with this dream. Jobs protection, creation and skills transfer being the driving force behind African Divas Outdoor.
